Contest Rules and Scoring
What are the contest rules and how do I play?
The Skills Contest: Each Skills Contest consists of a set number of Games (X). Each Game consists of 2 teams that compete. Each game ends with the outcome of one winner (team with the highest score) and one loser (team with the lowest score). To help keep things simple to understand, let’s use a five “Game” Skills Contest (X=5) as an example.
- So, if there are 5 games in the Skills Contest, then there are 1,2,3,4, or 5 Strategy Points that you must place on the Games.
- For example, look and the first Game in the Skills Contest, select the team you believe will win and click the check box by their name. Next, pick a Strategy Point value (1,2,3,4, or 5) for this game. Each Strategy Point number must be used but only used once.
- Next, move down to the second Game in the Skills Contest and repeat the process of choosing a winner and assigning a Strategy Points for that Game. Do this for all the remaining Games in the Skills Contest.
- Once you have made all your selections, hit the submit button at the bottom of the page and confirm that you are happy with your choices.
- At this point you are entered into the game and there are no changes that can be made to your previous selections. You are locked in and ready to go! Each player may play up to 10 entries per Skills Contest. Remember that every other player in the Skills Contest will be doing the same thing.
- The contest will close 15 minutes before the start of the first game in the contest. No game cards will be accepted beyond that point so make sure you hit the submit button before then.
- Once the games start we will keep track of the winners and losers and update the Contest Results within 5 min. of the end of each game in the contest.
- Strategy Points are won and lost as follows:
- Players who picked a game incorrectly give the number of Strategy Points THEY assigned to that game to those who picked it correctly.
- In addition, if a player picked a game incorrectly, that player gives or receives the difference in Strategy Points from those who also picked incorrectly.
- A player never gives Strategy Points if they choose the winning team in a game.
How are contest scores calculated?
After each Game is played, each Players Strategy Point Score for that Game is combined with all previous Games in the Skills Contest to give each Player their Total Score for that Skills Contest.
The Player with the highest Total Score after all the Games have been played, is the Champion. The Player with the next highest Total Score is second and so on. If there is a tie the player who submitted their game picks first is the Champion. The tying player or players who submitted their game picks second will be awarded 2nd, and so on until there are no more ties.

If I lose a game, does that mean I cant win?
Nope! If not everyone then almost everyone will lose a game in the contest! This is when your strategy point will come in to play. The lower the strategy point the less you will lose and in some cases still gain strategy points if there are a lot of other players that have placed higher strategy points then you. Can I edit my picks after they've been submitted?
Unfortunately you cannot edit your picks once you've hit the submit button.
However, if you would like to make new picks you can enter the contest again with the purchase of a VCoin up to 10 times.
What is a strategy point?
Strategy Points are numbers that you assign to each game in the contest. Generally you will want to put the higher numbers on the games that you are most sure of and the lowest numbers on games you are least sure of. Strategy Points are how we determine the winner and loser of the contest.
Strategy Points are won and lost as follows:
- Players who picked a game incorrectly give the number of Strategy Points THEY assigned to that game to those who picked it correctly.
- In addition, if a player picked a game incorrectly, that player gives or receives the difference in Strategy Points from those who also picked incorrectly.
A player never gives Strategy Points if they choose the winning team in a game.
